Text to CAD means describing an object in ordinary language and receiving real computer-aided design geometry rather than a picture. atoms.earth writes parametric code which is executed by a geometry kernel, so the output is a solid model with exact dimensions that can be exported as STEP or STL and manufactured.

Can AI design a product from a prompt?

Yes, if the output is geometry rather than an image. atoms.earth designs against a catalogue of real components with measured dimensions, checks that motors can lift the load, that the base will not tip, that the wiring adds up, and that every joint can move through its travel without colliding. The result is a printable model and a costed parts list.

How is this different from an AI image of a product?

An image cannot be made. atoms.earth returns solid geometry with named dimensions, a bill of materials with part numbers and prices, wiring, assembly steps, mass and centre of mass, and files a 3D printer or machine shop can use directly.

What file formats do I get?

STEP for CAD and machining, and STL for 3D printing, both of the assembled object and of the pieces laid out flat on a print bed. The parametric source is available too, so any dimension can be edited.

How long does a design take?

A rough shape appears within seconds and a complete machine such as a desk robot arm takes around four minutes, with the model building on screen piece by piece as it is designed.

Can I change the design after it is made?

Yes. Ask for a change in plain language and only the part you asked about is redesigned. Every other dimension, piece and part number stays exactly as it was.

Printed parts up to 240 mm on any axis, in PLA, PETG, TPU or ASA, combined with bought components: servos and gearmotors, microcontrollers, batteries, sensors, bearings, magnets and standard fasteners. Typical results include desk robot arms, pan and tilt camera mounts, phone and equipment mounts, enclosures and brackets.
